Tales from the Road Minor Update: CSS and Bug Fixes!

Howdy partner,

So it turns out that my idea for a new project was a bit too ambitious. Also turns out the reason I couldn't really find any other examples of a combat system implemented into Twine is because it's hard as hell. And Twine just doesn't really play well with combat loops, so that project is kind of just, on hold for now. That project was really fun to write for, but I just hit a complete brick wall with getting the combat system to work how I wanted.

But hey, that means I get to put more work into Tales! And now that I'm overflowing with knowledge gained from that previous project, there's no telling the kinds of stuff I could add to Tales from the Road!

Like new styling! Tales from the Road has had some minor CSS changes and will look a tad different. Mainly just color theme changes, save and restart buttons are now orange, background is a bit less dark. Makes it look a bit less bland, I think. Also made the font a bit bigger.

That short stint with the other project got me in the mood to write, so I'll be writing some stuff up here shortly. Thinking of expanding what you can do on the computer, maybe add a chat room kind of thing. That's something I've wanting to add for a long time now.

Armed with my amazing new knowledge I also went through and checked for bugs, here's the stuff I fixed up:

Fixed a linking issue with the Festival Walk Path and the Festival Game Area

Fixed an issue with you could text Holly regardless of Festival outcome

Fixed lots of variable issues that never should've happened (I blame the Twine 2 editor on this 100%. Give me syntax highlighting!)

Deleted old testing passages

Fixed a comment that wasn't formatted correctly

Got rid of some really weird timing choices. (Probably added them when I was tired.)

Fixed some linking issues in Valery's date. (Which, if you saw the shit I had to do to get Valery's date to work the way I wanted, you wouldn't be surprised.)

Annnd that's it. Hopefully I didn't accidentally break anything. More updates soon, probably, maybe.

Edit 4/18:

Pushed another update which fixed some placeholder stuff I forgot to remove.

Also typed up a new description for the page. Should be a bit more concise and detailed.
