Major Update 0.2.4 Patch Notes

Hi, how are you doing?

Yeah, I'm still alive. And chapter 4 is finally completed. Would've liked to get this update out sooner but college and some personal stuff kept that from happening. Alas, we're here now. Let's take a look at the notes for this update:

  • Chapter 4 has finally been completed!
    • What does this mean? It means Chicago is now free for you to explore. There's 3 main areas to explore and they all have a pretty decent amount of content. With the total word count for this half of chapter 4 being around 15k, which isn't too bad.
    • We've got The Sears Tower, Millennium Park, and The Museum of Science and Industry.  Check 'em out in whatever order you want, doesn't matter.
    • Sasha is the main star of this chapter. The co-protagonist of this chapter, you could even say. As she tags along with you throughout the entirety of this chapter.
    • A handful of optional scenes are also available in some of these areas. These optional scenes all expand on the characters in some way, so they aren't just fluff.
  • Some misc. bug fixes here and there that I didn't document.

Think that's it for the notes. Any issues with content new or old, just let me know. Now for some blogging or talking or whatever you want to call it. If you're not interested in that, well, here's your opportunity to close this tab.

Moving on... I was going to add a new feature with this update but it turned out to be a bit of a bother. So instead of delaying this update any further I just decided to put it on the back burner for now.

Plans for future content include, of course, chapter 5. Which is going to mainly focus on Jacob much like this chapter focused on Sasha. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to split chapter 5 into two different updates like I did chapter 4. I don't expect chapter 5 to be as long as chapter 4 due to the setting, meaning I might be able to just add it all in one update, we'll see. I might also have kass do some art of Jacob, though that's not set in stone.

Other ideas: obviously that new feature I put on the back burner. I've also thought about going back and rewriting some or maybe even all of chapter 2. It's never gone through any revisions or rewrites so to say that it's a bit dated would be an understatement.

Unfortunately, I don't really have a timetable for any of this stuff. Life is busy and I'm dealing with some personal stuff, among other things. Fall semester of university is over now, which is great since that frees up like 6 hours a day for me to do whatever stupid stuff I want, like write (or play Toontown with friends until 3 AM). So yeah, I guess it's just... content gets here when it gets here. I don't wanna make any promises because I'm not really able to write a consistent amount right now, writing happens whenever the stars align and I have both the energy and inspiration to actually make something decent. Which is to say, it doesn't happen very often.

Think that's it. Thanks for hanging around, I appreciate it.
